Pedagog is a single-file pedagogical chess engine. Levels are calibrated against the Maia bots and read as Lichess classical ratings: level 2 ≈ 950, level 10 (full strength) ≈ 1900; level 1 plays random moves. In standard chess the bots open from a small book of about a hundred lines, a quarter of them offbeat. Click a move, or use the ← → keys, to step through the game. Board by chessground (GPL-3), rules by cm-chess (MIT). Works offline once loaded. Third-party license notices.
